We’re in the last 3 1/2 years

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

So I’ve been listening to this guy, Ron Weinland for over a year now. I can’t really put my finger on why I listen.

I guess I kinda sorta want him to be right.

I mean, if he’s right about living twice, maybe it be nice to get on with it.

I’m not talking a bout suicide mind you, but the destruction of the earth as we know it. If it gets us to heaven soon, well then so be it.

To get back on track, I was going to stop listening when nothing happened in April 08. Then I was going to stop when nothing happened (physically) last summer. Then it was final – the end of the year, still nothing….time to move on.

Yet I can’t seem to bring myself to do it. In my rebellion, I refuse to listen live – I download it and listen at my leisure.

But why do I keep on listening?

I suppose he gives me hope that there is a loving God who’s molding us for eternity. There’s no physical evidence that it’s so.

I want him to be right – even if it means massive destruction and lots of pain and suffering.

I mean if it’s going to lead us to a heavenly (whatever that means) eternity, let’s bring it on.

Anyone else listen and not know why?

Are we there yet?

I keep seeing reports and predictions that we are nearing the end of civilization as we know it.

I’m not sure exactly what that means though.

It could be that global warming will cause us all to drown – maybe it will be like “”Waterworld”"

Or maybe we really will run out of oil and we’ll all have to ride bicycles like they do in China.

or maybe it’s as many religious leaders say – the end of man’s rule on earth.

I’d like to explore that concept for awhile.

I’m going to start with a religion called The Church of God since I’ve read a lot about and by members of this group. Much of the writing about this group is extremely negative and hateful so I want to find out what is so bad about this group.

I’ll be exploring this group for now and would appreciate any information anyone can provide. Please keep in mind that I’m looking for objective information and personal insight, but I don’t want any hateful comments. If you can’t be civil with your opinions, I really don’t want to hear them.

I’ll start with a leader of one of the many groups that call themselves “”Church of God”" – Ronald Weinland of the Church of God – PKG.

I’d like to start with him because I’ve come across many blogs that spew hateful opinions about him and the people he represents.
